Thriller U Returns With New Single “I’m Crushed” – Produced by Winston Blake & Black Music Works

Reggae lovers and fans of classic lovers rock have something special to look forward to. Legendary Jamaican vocalist Thriller U is preparing to release his upcoming single “I’m Crushed”, produced by Winston Blake in collaboration with Black Music Works.

The new track continues Thriller U’s tradition of heartfelt reggae ballads, delivering emotion, smooth vocals and the timeless sound that made him one of the most respected voices in reggae lovers rock.

A Voice That Helped Define Lovers Rock

Born Eustace C. Hamilton on August 14, 1969, in Kingston, Jamaica, Thriller U rose to prominence during the late 1980s and early 1990s. His vocal style has often been compared to that of Frankie Paul, another iconic Jamaican singer known for soulful melodies and emotional delivery.

Thriller U first gained international attention with the 1989 hit “It’s Over,” produced by Hugh Redman James. The song’s story of heartbreak and betrayal resonated with listeners and helped launch his international touring career, including performances in the United Kingdom.

Over the years he released numerous memorable singles, including:

  • “Big Bamboo”

  • “Private Property”

  • “Are You Really Ready For Love”

  • “I’ll Prove It To You”

  • “Where Would I Go”

  • “Since You Came Into My Life”

His music blended classic lovers rock melodies with the evolving sounds of reggae and dancehall.

Collaborations Across Reggae

Throughout his career, Thriller U worked with some of reggae’s most respected producers. These include studio legends such as Ossie Hibbert, Bobby Digital, King Jammy and Donovan Germain.

He also collaborated with artists like:

  • Pan Head

  • Flourgon

  • Johnny P

Thriller U also gained attention for his reggae interpretations of well-known international songs, including covers of “Careless Whisper” by George Michael and “The Power of Love” by Jennifer Rush.

Part of the Legendary Group L.U.S.T.

While building a strong solo career, Thriller U also joined the vocal harmony group L.U.S.T. — an acronym for Love, Understanding, Sensitivity and Trust.

The group featured several respected reggae vocalists:

  • Singing Melody

  • Tony Curtis

  • Lukie D

Together they aimed to bring soulful harmonies back to reggae music. Their performances, including appearances at international events such as MIDEM and New York’s Culturama festival, received strong critical praise.

The New Chapter: “I’m Crushed”

The upcoming single “I’m Crushed” brings Thriller U back with the emotional storytelling that fans love. Produced by Winston Blake and the team at Black Music Works, the song captures the vulnerability of heartbreak while maintaining the warm, melodic foundation that defines lovers rock.

The production blends classic reggae instrumentation with a polished modern sound, allowing Thriller U’s signature vocals to remain front and center.

For longtime fans, the single is a reminder of why his voice became such an important part of reggae’s romantic era. For newer listeners, it offers a perfect introduction to one of Jamaica’s enduring vocal talents.

Keeping the Spirit of Reggae Alive

With a career spanning decades, Thriller U continues to represent the soulful side of reggae music. Releases like “I’m Crushed” show that the emotional depth and melodic beauty of lovers rock remain just as powerful today.

As anticipation builds around the new release, one thing is certain: when Thriller U sings about love, heartbreak and devotion, audiences around the world still listen.
